About the role:
As a DevOps Engineer at Merapar Netherlands, you will get the opportunity to build complex, secure and
scalable cloud-based solutions using the latest technologies. We are looking for people who
can innovate and provide technical leadership to our clients.
Responsibilities we'll trust you with
- Work closely with clients and development teams to deliver innovative software and services.
- Demonstrate agility by hitting the ground running, thinking on your feet, and inspiring the team to embrace agile ways of working.
- Build complex, secure, and scalable cloud-based solutions as an expert in Linux, CI/CD, and IaC.
- Advocate for the design, implementation, and operations of both backend and frontend products.
- Share knowledge, foster collaboration, and find new ways to solve problems collectively.
- Automate development team workflows to enhance efficiency.
- Serve as the go-to expert for all things related to Cloud.
- Assume the role of a technical lead, utilising professional judgement to identify, remediate, and delegate service issues within tight deadlines.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise
- Strong experience as a DevOps Engineer or Developer working on a variety of projects.
- Ideally possess a relevant AWS Certification, Linux foundation certifications (and/or other relevant technology certifications).
- Firm understanding of Linux, containerisation and orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, automation and scripting tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Python, Shell).
- Experience in CI/CD and Agile working practices.
- Good understanding of security, scalability, and resilience in software development, including knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and logging solutions (e.g., ELK stack).
- Experience in implementing, releasing, and maintaining application development platforms.
- A good understanding of networking is preferred.
- Tenacity, constantly questioning, and shaping delivery for continuous improvement, with a commitment to continuous monitoring and improvement through the use of metrics and feedback loops.
- Experience and interest in troubleshooting potentially complex issues.
- Ability to work directly with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to discuss and document issues and solutions.
- Capability to manage rapidly changing and emerging requirements and priorities, with a focus on delivering business value.
- Accountability and openness with the team and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Slack) for effective communication and coordination within the team.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms beyond AWS, such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform(GCP) may be useful but not essential.
- Excellent knowledge of English with first-rate verbal and written communication skills.
- You speak Dutch and are resident in The Netherlands.
